Biography

He started practicing Sambo in his native city, Komsomolsk-on-Amur at the age of 12 under the guidance of his father, Igor Arkadievich. At the age of 21, he became the real discovery of the Russian Championship in Khabarovsk, sensationally winning the weight category up to 68 kg. That moment Yevgeniy calls the most memorable in his career and he confesses that he could not sleep all night long after that victory. Moreover, this victory at the main national tournament opened the way for the young athlete to the world championship of 2013 in St. Petersburg, but just four days before the start, he received an unfortunate injury and could not appear on the wrestling mat. Since then, twice, in 2014 and in 2018, he stopped one-step away from climbing to the top of the Russian Championship again, being content with silver medals. However, the fans are confident that he will still be able to repeat the result of seven years ago and deservedly try his hand at the World Championship.

Since 2015 defends the colors of UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma). Graduated from Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University. Married. Passionate about snowboarding, wakeboarding, and scooter riding. Still finds time for reading books, watching movies and walking his dog.
