He began practicing sambo at the age of six in his hometown of Pavlovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region. His father, the first master of sports in town, brought him to a sports club. His coach was Sergey Leonidovich Sosnikhin. Ruslan recalls: “I was an ordinary boy, I went to football and wrestling. But when the first victories came, I decided to focus on SAMBO”.
Life has proved that he made the right choice. In 2010, Bagdasaryan became the winner of the Russian Youth Championship. And then there were only victories at championships of Russia, Europe, World Cup stages and the World Cup podium. On his own admission, he does not see himself in any other sport.
Since 2021, he has been a member of the UMMC Sambo Club (Verkhnyaya Pyshma).
Ruslan graduated from Moscow University. S.Yu. Witte. He is married, has a son and a daughter. Ruslan supports healthy lifestyle and outdoor activities: fishing, hiking, playing football.
