On August 26-27, All-Russian Memory Competition was held for the second time among men and women at Rodina Sports Club in Ekaterinburg (67 a, Ilyicha Street). The organizers of the tournament were Rodina Sports Club and Sambo Federation of the Sverdlovsk Region.

As a reminder, the idea to hold such competitions belongs to Nikolay Zuev, winner of Sambo World Cup, medalist and winner of the USSR and RSFSR championships, a long-term member of the USSR Sambo team. The purpose of the competition is not just to determine the strongest athletes but also to pay tribute to outstanding Sverdlovsk sambists and coaches who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Russian and world sambo. In addition, this tournament is also an invariable venue for sambo veterans of the Urals.

The first Memory Competition took place in March 2019. That time, sambo wrestlers from five federal districts and 14 regions of the country took part in it. Sixteen international masters of sports and 34 masters of sports took the start, and the total number of participants amounted to 165 people. In 2020, the tournament was not held due to well-known COVID restrictions. And today, Ekaterinburg has the opportunity to see the best representatives of our national sport once again.
